Pasta Aglio o Olio




What a fun morning we had.  We made pasta from scratch, for most of us this was the first time.  As you can see from the photos the end result looked great.  How disappointing we were unable to share the smell and taste with you. The pasta was light and 'al dente'.  The Pasta video that I have linked below slightly differs to the recipe we used for our pasta.  However, it is a great guide to how to make the pasta if you want to attempt it for yourself.   
                     We used 200g Flour to 4 eggs.  
There are lots of different recipes online for how to make pasta from scratch.  
Homemade Pasta
While we waited for our pasta to rest we gathered and prepared our ingredients for the Aglio e Olio.
 This recipe was chosen as it did not consist of a tomato or cream base and used ingredients that were easily found in our cupboards or the garden.   For the Aglio e Olio you need garlic, parsley, lemon, and olive oil, and the pasta.  Very simple and very tasty.  Sometimes the simplest is the best.  


The darker looking pasta we modified and included some tomato paste in the dough.  You could also adapt the recipe by including beetroot or spinach into the pasta dough.
