Apple and Cream Cheese French Toast
Everyone who tried this recipe when we made it loved it. I am not able to acknowledge the source of this recipe as I have forgotten where I saw the idea. Please comment below if you know where this link can be found.
Ingredients: To make about 8
2 large apples
A 250g container of cream cheese ( you will only use half of this)
8 slices of sandwich bread
4 eggs,
cinnamon
oil and butter for pan frying
A, Dice the apples, I left the skin on or you can remove the skin. In a small pan add the apples with a little water and 1 or 2 tsp of cinnamon. Cook for about 3 minutes.
B. Cut the crusts off the bread.
C. Spread the bread generously with cream cheese.
D. Place some of the diced apples along the bottom of the bread. See above photo.
E. Roll the bread, At this stage, you will need to heat a pan with butter and oil.
F. Beat the eggs. Then place the rolled bread into the egg until the bread is covered in egg.
G. Fry the bread until golden brown.
